Issues at Alpine 4-H Camp in Wyoming have created a few challenges for Horse Camp. Horse Camp this year will be held July 7, 8, 9, and half a day on the 10th. The location will be the Madison County Fairgrounds with camping available on the north side of the grounds. We are working hard to keep the structure the same as Alpine with the exception of the wonderful atmosphere of mountain and trees. Due to the expense of this facility, we are having to keep the cost of $60 for the students attending, and adjusting the cost of Cloverbuds to $20, and parents and anyone else attending at $30 each. It does not appear that we will be able to furnish all three meals as at Alpine, but are working to make some meals available.
It is critical to have a head count of students early. To make this change easier, we are asking for the first half of the entry fee to be turned in by May 23, with the second half to be turned in by June 20.
Because we will not be crossing a state line, coggins, health certificates, and brand inspections are unnecessary. The purchase of certified hay will not be required. Hopefully the savings will encourage everyone to still take advantage of this opportunity to attend the same caliber of classes as presented in Alpine by experienced instructors, and overlook the lack of vacation type atmosphere.
