Election Calendar

January

Jan. 1 - Fremont County buildings will be closed for New Year's Day.
Jan. 7 - County Commission meets as Board of Equalization for 2018 Property Sub Roll only.
Jan. 21 - Fremont County buildings will be closed for Idaho Human Rights Day.
Jan. 22 - Last day to certify the wording to the county clerk for a bond or levy election by a school district or recall election by any political subdivision which is ordered for March 12 election.
-County Commission meets the first three Mondays, unless otherwise advertised, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at County Courthouse in St. Anthony.
-Planning and Zoning Commission meets third Monday at 6 p.m. at County Annex in St. Anthony.
-Assessor's Office will begin accepting applications for the 2019 Property Tax Reduction (Circuit Breaker) Program. Application must be made annually.
-Personal Property Declarations for 2019 Primary Property Roll are mailed to taxpayers.
-Clerk's Office mails application letters for exempt property parcels.

February

Feb. 8 - First half taxes due on 2018 1st Subsequent Property Roll.
Feb. 18 - Fremont County buildings will be closed for Presidents Day.
Feb. 19 - Last day to pre-register to vote with the county clerk until 5 p.m. for the March 12 election. Registration closes in those districts holding a March 12 election. Election Day registration is available.
-County Commission meets the first three Mondays, unless otherwise advertised, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at County Courthouse in St. Anthony.
-Planning and Zoning Commission meets third Monday at 6 p.m. at County Annex in St. Anthony.

March

March 1 - Last day for an application for a mail-in ballot to be received by the county clerk not later than 5 p.m. for the March 12 election.
March 8 - Last day for in-person absentee voting until 5 p.m. for the March 12 election at the absent elector’s polling place.
March 12 - Last day to return absentee ballots to the county clerk’s Elections Office by 8 p.m. for the March 12 election.
March 12 - Election Day 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
March 13 - Voter registration reopens.
March 15 - Deadline to apply for Agricultural Property Tax Exemption in Assessor's Office.
March 15 - Applications for exempt parcels are due to the Clerk's Office.
March 22 - Last day for filing declarations of candidacy until 5 p.m. for candidates for May 21 election with the clerk of the political subdivision. This filing is for political subdivision candidates.
-County Commission meets the first three Mondays, unless otherwise advertised, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at County Courthouse in St. Anthony.
-Planning and Zoning Commission meets third Monday at 6 p.m. at County Annex in St. Anthony.

April

April 1 - Last day for a political subdivision to certify the wording to the county clerk for a bond, levy, initiative, referendum, recall or any other ballot question ordered for the May 21 election.
April 8 - Last day declaration of intent to be filed by a write-in candidate with the clerk of the district for May 21 election. This filing is for political subdivision candidates.
April 8 - Last day a candidate for the May 21 election to withdraw before the May 21 election.
April 15 - Deadline to apply for Property Tax Reduction (Circuit Breaker) Program in Assessor's Office. Applications must be made annually.
April 15 - Deadline to apply for Homeowners Exemption in Assessor's Office.
April 29 - Last day to pre-register to vote with the county clerk until 5 p.m. for the May 21 election.

May

May 17 - Last day for in-person absentee voting until 5 p.m. for the May 21 election at the absent elector’s polling place.
May 21 - Last day to return absentee ballots to the county clerk’s Elections Office by 8 p.m. for the May 21 election.
May 21 - Election Day 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
May 22 - Voter registration reopens.
May 27 - Fremont County buildings will be closed for Memorial Day.
-County Commission meets the first three Mondays, unless otherwise advertised, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at County Courthouse in St. Anthony.
-Planning and Zoning Commission meets third Monday at 6 p.m. at County Annex in St. Anthony.
-Boat Wash opens in May. Contact County Weed Department for information.
-Summer hours at St. Anthony and Island Park Landfills are in effect from mid-May to mid-September.

June

June 20 - Second half 2018 property taxes due, all rolls.
-County Commission meets the first three Mondays, unless otherwise advertised, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at County Courthouse in St. Anthony.
-Planning and Zoning Commission meets third Monday at 6 p.m. at County Annex in St. Anthony.
-Property Assessment Notices for Primary Property Roll will be mailed to taxpayers by the 1st Monday in June. Taxpayers have until the fourth Monday of June to protest those values with the Assessor's Office. County Commissioners will meet as Board of Equalization to hear protests beginning in late June. BOE appointments must be made by 5 p.m. on the fourth Monday of June.
-Weed Worker Workshop is in June. Contact Weed Department for information.

July

July 4 - Fremont County buildings will be closed for Independence Day.
July 8 - Last day to certify the wording to the county clerk for a bond or levy election by a school district or recall election by a political subdivision which is ordered for the Aug. 27 election.
-County Commission meets the first three Mondays, unless otherwise advertised, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at County Courthouse in St. Anthony.
-Planning and Zoning Commission meets third Monday at 6 p.m. at County Annex in St. Anthony.

August

Aug. 5-10 - Fremont County Fair in St. Anthony. Market stock sale at 11 a.m. Aug. 10.
Aug. 5 - Last day to pre-register to vote with the county clerk until 5 p.m. for the Aug. 27 election. Registration closes in those districts holding an Aug. 27 election. Election Day registration is available.
Aug. 16 Last day for an application for a mail-in absentee ballot to be received by the county clerk not later than 5 p.m. for the Aug. 27 election.
Aug. 23 - Last day for in-person absentee voting until 5 p.m. for the Aug. 27 election at the absent elector’s polling place.
Aug. 27 - Last day to return absentee ballots to the county clerk’s Election Office by 8 p.m. for the Aug. 27 election.
Aug. 27 - Election Day 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Aug. 28 - Voter registration reopens.

Sept. 6 - Last day for filing declarations of candidacy until 5 p.m. for candidates for the Nov. 5 election with the clerk of the political subdivision. This filing is for political subdivision candidates.
Sept. 16 - Last day for a political subdivision to certify the wording to the county clerk for bond, levy, initiative, referendum, recall or any other ballot question ordered for Nov. 5 election.
Sept. 23 - Last day declaration of intent to be filed by a write-in candidate with the clerk of the political subdivision for Nov. 5 election. This filing is for political subdivision candidates. (This does not apply to city candidates. See Oct. 8).
Sept. 23 - Last day a candidate for the Nov. 5 election to withdraw before the election.
-County Commission meets the first three Mondays, unless otherwise advertised, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at County Courthouse in St. Anthony.
-Planning and Zoning Commission meets third Monday at 6 p.m. at County Annex in St. Anthony.
-Winter hours are in effect at St. Anthony and Island Park Landfills from mid-Sept. to mid-May.

October

Oct. 14 - Fremont County buildings will be closed for Columbus Day.
Oct. 15 - Last day to pre-register to vote with the county clerk until 5 p.m. for the Nov. 5 election. Registration closed in those districts holding a Nov. 5 election. Election Day registration is available.
Oct. 25 - Last day for an application for a mail-in absentee ballot to be received by the county clerk not later than 5 p.m. for the Nov. 5 election.
-County Commission meets the first three Mondays, unless otherwise advertised, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at County Courthouse in St. Anthony.

Nov. 6 - Voter registration reopens.
Nov. 11 - Fremont County buildings will be closed for Veterans Day.
Nov. 28 - Fremont County buildings will be closed for Thanksgiving Day.
-County Commission meets the first three Mondays, unless otherwise advertised, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at County Courthouse in St. Anthony.
-Planning and Zoning Commission meets third Monday at 6 p.m. at County Annex in St. Anthony.
-Tax Notices for Primary Property Roll are mailed to taxpayers no later than fourth Monday of November.

December
